We’re recruiting for a Delivery Manager here at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative End User Compute Services (EUCS) team.
This role aligns against Delivery Manager from the Government Digital and Data Framework
The End User Computing team sits within the Technology Services team within Digital and Technology, which is responsible for all infrastructure, end user computing, onsite support and delivery of technology projects. It has responsibility for 95,000 devices and infrastructure across 900+ sites.
We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who’ll enjoy working in a delivery focused, agile environment with multidisciplinary teams. You will contribute to our Agile Delivery community and share your skills and experiences with others across the MoJ, and wider government departments.
You’ll be an experienced delivery manager leading a multidisciplinary team, supporting and continuously improving products of significant scale and complexity. You’ll get support from your people manager, delivery manager peers, the wider delivery community and from formal learning opportunities to develop in this role.
Working as a delivery manager, you’ll be responsible for building, maintaining and motivating teams; protect the team and make sure the team collaborates to focus on what is most important. You’ll coach team members and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement in the team. You will proactively manage dependencies and risks to overcome obstacles to delivery.
You’ll be an active part of the broader delivery management community, receiving coaching and mentoring from your senior colleagues, and will also have the chance to participate in informal support networks with peers.
The role is based in the Application Platforms team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Be a community advocate and share your own learnings by contributing regularly to your profession through education, coaching and mentoring and taking part in informal support networks with peers. This may also require you to represent the community to larger audiences inside and outside of government.

Essential
- Agile and Lean practices. You have practical experience and understanding of Agile tools, techniques and principles. You can adapt and reflect, be resilient and have the ability to see outside of the process.
- Communication skills. You can listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them. You can manage stakeholder expectations, and facilitate difficult discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders.
- Planning. You have practical experience of facilitating the team’s planning cycle, managing complex internal and external dependencies, removing blockers that affect plans and can develop a plan for a difficult situation.
- Maintaining delivery momentum. You have practical experience of facilitating the delivery flow of a team, managing the pace and tempo. You can actively address internal and external risks, issues and dependencies.
- Making the process work. You are an expert at identifying and challenging organisational processes and know how to guide the team through the implementation of a new process
- Proven background in leading digital and/or technology delivery and are passionate about delivering positive outcomes for our users.
- Team dynamics and collaboration. You know how to bring people together to form a motivated team. You can help create the right environment for a team to work in and can empower them to deliver.

Salary Information**
Base salary for this role is from £49,325 - £53,081 (London) / £42,914 - £46,182 (National)
- New entrants to the Civil Service joining the MoJ are expected to start at the minimum of the pay band.
- Existing Civil Servants moving on a level transfer will retain their current base salary or move to the minimum of the pay band for the role, whichever is higher.
- Existing Civil Servants who are promoted will either move to the bottom of the new grade’s pay band or receive a 10% uplift, whichever provides the greater increase.
- Candidates may also be eligible for a non‑pensionable Government Digital & Data Allowance of up to £6,575 per year (London only). This is a temporary allowance, reviewed annually and may be retained, amended, or withdrawn.

Stage 2 - Interviews:
Successful candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to a panel interview held via Microsoft Teams. At interview stage, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile elements - Experience, Technical and the following Behaviours:

Working Arrangements & Further Information
The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.
Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.
For nationally advertised roles: All successful candidates will be appointed to the nearest viable office nearest to their home postcode and on its respective pay scale. This will be at either a HQ building (subject to desk allocation, a Justice Collaboration Centre (JCC) or a Justice Satellite Office (JSO) – See Map. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity).
For current MoJ employees, your base location will need to be changed to the nearest viable office (to your home postcode), either at a HQ building, JCC or JSO within the National Office Network and moved its location’s respective pay scale (any legacy arrangements/locations will need to be amended).
Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.
MoJ candidates who are on a specialist grade, will be able to retain their grade on lateral transfer.

Flexible working hours
The Ministry of Justice offers a flexible working system in many offices. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. MoJ welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs. Annual Leave
Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years’ service.
