Job title: Redeployment and Resourcing Officer

About the role

The HR Resourcing and Redeployment Team play an important role in supporting HMCTS business areas and impacted staff through people movement activity and business as usual changes where there may be a need to move individuals into other roles. The team ensure HMCTS staff are able to be moved across the organisation in a fair way, with a national process which is consistent for all staff impacted by these changes.

As Redeployment and Resourcing Officer, you will provide an effective level of support in delivering national people movement and redeployment activity across HMCTS working to the timescales set out by the workstream.

Your duties will include:

  • Responsibility for planning and coordinating the end-to-end administration of people transition activity and the redeployment process.
  • Coordination of redeployment support, including preparation of resources for staff and line managers.
  • Being a point of contact for line managers and staff, answering and responding to queries.
  • Managing the redeployment mailboxes and coordinating responses.
  • Tracking progress of staff at each stage of the redeployment process.
  • Reviewing vacancies to identify potential roles to support people movement and redeployment activity.
  • Coordinating vacancy updates, collaborating with the business to ensure all required information is obtained to assess the suitability of vacancies against resourcing needs.
  • Supporting engagement with regions/OGDs as required to ensure opportunities are circulated appropriately.
  • Providing MI to key stakeholders and the Redeployment Manager.
  • Leading on the preparation of packs and coordination of panels for competitive selection, ensuring redeployment principles are adhered to.
  • Other general tasks commensurate with the role.

You will work closely with a range of key stakeholders across HR Operations and the wider business, as well as external contacts where required. Building strong relationships and maintaining clear, effective communication channels will be essential when working with the following:

  • Redeployment Support Manager
  • Head of Resourcing
  • Head of HR Operations
  • Head of Strategic Workforce Planning
  • HR Business Partners
  • People Transition Team
  • Regional Support Units

Communication will be both verbal and written and may consist of communicating updates/progress on people movement matters, including National Selection and Redeployment Process.

Working Arrangements & Further Information

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.

Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.

For nationally advertised roles: All successful candidates will be appointed to the nearest viable office nearest to their home postcode and on its respective pay scale.  This will be at either a HQ building (subject to desk allocation, a Justice Collaboration Centre (JCC) or a Justice Satellite Office (JSO) – See Map. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity). 

For current MoJ employees, your base location will need to be changed to the nearest viable office (to your home postcode), either at a HQ building, JCC or JSO within the National Office Network and moved its location’s respective pay scale (any legacy arrangements/locations will need to be amended).

Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.

MoJ candidates who are on a specialist grade, will be able to retain their grade on lateral transfer.

All candidates who are currently in receipt of Mark Time / Pay Protection should ensure they are familiar with the new policy on permanent and temporary promotion which can be found on the employee intranet.

Flexible working hours 

The Ministry of Justice offers a flexible working system in many offices. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years’ service.
