The Role

We’re recruiting for a Junior Capability Manager – Learning & Development here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative People & Capability team.

As a Junior Capability Manager – Learning & Development, you will be working with senior stakeholders and your role will be vital in ensuring that managers and leaders benefit from the work we do so that they can deliver against their accountabilities.   You will be working within the Capability team, supporting Learning and Development to help develop your well-rounded people services portfolio.

You will be someone who enjoys a challenge, can independently plan and deliver a project, and works to ensure the benefits of your work are realised. We’re continuously iterating and improving the offers we run, so you will be required to thrive in an environment of change.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the re-design of our customer facing Sharepoint pages and the interpretation of relevant data, which will bring together the Capability team’s areas of responsibility for our employees.

Working in conjunction with the Capability Leads, SMT Heads of Profession, Justice Digital and other stakeholders to develop and manage learning and development requests

Lead on our Licences offerings working with external stakeholders to drive value for money and ensuring colleagues can access learning and development when needed

Monitor team spend, using granularity of data to highlight L&D gaps

Supporting the use of tools across the team to analyse, interpret and format data, suggesting areas for improvement and supporting data focused activities where needed.

Planning and organising regular forums and events, designed to encourage two-way dialogue between colleagues, and creating an avenue for feedback to drive continuous improvement in our messaging. 

Planning and creating high quality and effective communications, brochures and newsletters through the use of Canva and other tools.

Essential

Engaging with senior colleagues and using your negotiation and influencing skills to secure buy in where needed.

Presenting with confidence with the ability to independently design, develop and deliver events. Good Digital Literacy skills such as critical thinking, interpreting data sets, analysing information and using the outcomes to drive effective decision making.

Developing within and adapting to a fast-paced and changing environment.

Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for BPSS clearance

Working Arrangements & Further Information

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.

Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.

For nationally advertised roles: All successful candidates will be appointed to the nearest viable office nearest to their home postcode and on its respective pay scale.  This will be at either a HQ building (subject to desk allocation, a Justice Collaboration Centre (JCC) or a Justice Satellite Office (JSO) – See Map. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity). 

For current MoJ employees, your base location will need to be changed to the nearest viable office (to your home postcode), either at a HQ building, JCC or JSO within the National Office Network and moved its location’s respective pay scale (any legacy arrangements/locations will need to be amended).

Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.

MoJ candidates who are on a specialist grade, will be able to retain their grade on lateral transfer.

Flexible working hours 

The Ministry of Justice offers a flexible working system in many offices. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. MoJ welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs. Annual Leave

Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years’ service.
