Ministry of Justice Security and Information Group

We design, implement and support projects to improve the justice system: projects that make a real difference to the way our people work. The Ministry of Justice has many people working for us, and many more who use our services.  Our job is to make things safer for all those people, as well as helping to fix things when they go wrong.

Much of our work is in the Security and Information spaces – everything from buying a few software licences to implementing massive business change programmes.  We also get involved in other areas, from the security of our buildings to the way people tell us about problems. We use both PRINCE2 and Agile Project Management and we’re happy to use whichever one works for the project.

The role

We’re looking for a Project Administrator to join our Security and Information Group team

The Project Administrator works across teams and parts of the organisation, making  sure that processes are followed and projects are properly documented.

You will:

  • Write and update project plans, reports and risk reviews with Project Managers.
  • Keep colleagues and stakeholders informed about plans and project progress.
  • Work together with other teams to make sure decisions are documented, actions are progressed and different areas talk to each other.
  • Spot risks and problems, and help to find ways to deal with them.
  • Find ways to improve processes and ways of working to benefit your team and others
  • Work collaboratively with finance, commercial and legal teams to make sure processes are followed

Knowledge and Experience

You will have:

  • An interest in project management
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of working across teams
  • Ideally you will be familiar with security and privacy topics and services.

Salary

The national salary range is £25,118 - £26,901, London salary range is £28,313 - £30,324. Your salary will be dependent on your base location.

Working Arrangements & Further Information

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.

For nationally advertised roles, the successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office. This will be discussed and agreed on the completion of pre-employment checks.

Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on ‘modernised’ terms in their current post or onto ‘unmodernised’ MoJ terms if they are on ‘unmodernised’ terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.

Annual Leave

Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years’ service.

There is also a scheme to allow qualifying staff to buy or sell up to three days leave each year. Additional paid time off for public holidays and 1 privilege day. Leave for part-time and job share posts will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
