Organisational Overview


The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) protects people in England and Wales who may not have the mental capacity to make certain decisions for themselves, such as about their health and finance. We are an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), set up in 2007 following the introduction of the Mental Capacity Act of 2005.


OPG is responsible for registering lasting powers of attorney (LPA) and enduring powers of attorney (EPA) and supervising deputies who are appointed by the Court of Protection.

Team Overview


The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) is seeking to recruit a HEO Performance and Management Information Analyst to join our Data and Performance Team, a growing and multidisciplinary team which sits in our Strategy & Central Services Directorate. We are looking at how we can improve Performance reporting and the presentation of the Balanced Scorecard, review the OPG Performance framework and the KPIs we report on, improve the quality of the performance data we use and automate data to make the process efficient. Our ambition is to deliver performance reporting that enables the Board to be able to track performance and trends, understand the outlook and trajectory, support decision making, drive efficiency and value for money and help us understand our customer needs to deliver improved services. Within the wider team, we are implementing the OPG data strategy to grow OPG’s data capability, improving access, management and application of data to support timely decision making.

The 5-minute presentation (Managing a quality service level 3) should be verbally communicated only, with no visual aids. The panel may ask some follow up questions regarding this behaviour following the completion of your presentation.
