Who we are
We’re an interdisciplinary team of experts focused on solving critical challenges across our justice system. Our team draw their expertise from government, academia and the private sector.
The Justice AI Unit exists to make AI a core part of the justice system.
We do this by giving everyone safe access to the most powerful AI tools, building AI products to tackle specific problems, and setting out clear guidance on AI ethics and safety. We’re also empowering staff through training and upskilling, helping people across the justice system feel confident using these new technologies.
Most importantly, we’re encouraging a culture that embraces new ways of working.
The Role
As Head of Productivity Tools & Scaling, you'll help staff across the Ministry of Justice use AI tools safely and confidently. You'll set up elegant ways for people to learn about AI, test new ideas, and make sure that what works gets shared across the organisation. You'll also help us measure the impact AI is having - to our people, to the public, and to our services. You'll manage a small team to help with training, communications, and measuring the impact of new products. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll make sure AI becomes a useful, trusted part of how we work every day.

Community Enablement: Responsible for creating engaging content to grow and energise the AI community and build a strong online network of AI champions across the department.
Measurement and Impact Evaluation: Responsible analysing the data captured through surveys, AI usage and direct user engagement, and presenting trends and analysis in clear, actionable formats that support - and where necessary, challenge existing narratives.
Engage senior stakeholders to drive delivery of the AI strategy, ensuring alignment with the MoJ’s wider transformation agenda.
