About the Role


The postholder will support the effective delivery of the MoJ Arm’s Length Body (ALB) Strategy within the Synergy Programme by coordinating planning, engagement, governance, and communications across multiple programme workstreams and ALBs. Working closely with the ALB Strategy Lead and senior stakeholders, the role ensures alignment to programme milestones, manages interdependencies and competing priorities, and supports transition and implementation readiness. The postholder provides analysis, insight, and recommendations to inform senior decision-making in a complex and evolving programme environment.



Main Activities / Responsibilities


The job holder will be required to undertake the following duties and responsibilities:


Strategic Coordination & Delivery

• Support development, maintenance and active management of the ALB Strategy and delivery plans across multiple ALBs

• Coordinate inputs across programme workstreams, ensuring alignment to milestones, dependencies and critical path activity

• Monitor delivery progress, managing interdependencies and identifying risks/issues in a complex, fast-paced environment




Governance & Reporting

• Lead the development and delivery of high-quality governance outputs (agendas, papers, briefings, actions, minutes)

• Maintain oversight of milestones, risks, issues and dependencies through structured reporting

• Ensure governance outputs are delivered to agreed standards and timelines, supporting senior forums and decision-making


Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

• Build and manage relationships across ALBs, departments and programme teams to drive alignment and delivery

Facilitate cross-organisational engagement forums and working groups

Influence Stakeholder Engagement & Influence stakeholders to provide timely inputs, agree priorities, and align to programme requirements

• Deputise for the ALB Strategy Lead where required, representing the strategy across senior forums


Communications & Change Support

• Develop and coordinate clear, consistent communications, guidance and briefing materials for a wide stakeholder audience

Support business change and readiness activity, ensuring ALBs are prepared for transition and implementation

• Enable consistent messaging and effective information flow across programme and ALB stakeholders


Analysis, Insight & Decision Support

• Analyse Programme data and stakeholder feedback to identify trends, risks and emerging issues

• Provide clear, evidence-based insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders

• Support informed decision-making by translating complex information into concise briefings and options



Management of Resources


No direct budget or workforce management. However, the postholder may need to adapt communications, governance packs and readiness assessments to reflect any programme decisions affecting how ALBs plan for changes to shared services, resourcing, processes and controls during transition.


Travel Requirements


Travel will be required on an ad hoc basis to attend meetings and related events linked to the role.
