We’re recruiting for an Associate Capability Manager here at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative Capability team.
You'll work closely with a range of colleagues including Heads of Professions, Recruitment, and teams across Justice Digital, Data and Science (JDDS). A big part of what you’ll be working on is enhancing our capability products to support colleagues across JDDS. With the overall aim of building confidence and capability across managers, colleagues and leaders so they can meet their key accountabilities and development needs.
You'll have a good toolkit at your disposal: Slack, the Microsoft Suite (PowerApps, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint). But beyond the tools, what really matters here is impact. We measure success not just by what gets delivered, but by the shifts we see in capability, engagement, performance and culture. At the start of every project, we agree on a meaningful metric together, so you'll always know what good looks like.
If successful, you’ll join the Capability Team in Enabling Services and will be placed in one of the following sub teams based on your skill set and business need; Assessment and Allowance, Learning and Development or Talent.

Building and working on our colleague-facing SharePoint site (Capability Hub), bringing the Capability team's iterative products to life for colleagues in a way that's useful and engaging.
Supporting Capability Leads, Senior Management, and Heads of Profession to develop and manage Learning and Development, Assessment and Allowance, and Talent initiatives.
Leading on our products with external stakeholders, making sure we're driving value for money and that colleagues can always find what they need.
Reviewing data and effectively communicating key trends that can be used to improve and iterate products.
Planning and running regular forums and events that spark genuine two-way conversation and give colleagues a real voice in shaping what we do.
Getting involved in planning and presenting to different audiences on our key capability products.
Taking ownership of the quality and consistency of our capability products and communications, gathering feedback and acting on it.

Essential
Experience in capability building or supporting the professional development of colleagues
Experience using digital tools from the Microsoft suite; Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Copilot etc. and the appetite to keep developing those skills.
Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for BPSS clearance

Base salary for this role is from London: £40,014 - £42,859; National: £35,335 - £37,847
Existing Civil Servants moving on a level transfer will retain their current base salary or move to the minimum of the pay band for the role, whichever is higher.
Existing Civil Servants who are promoted will either move to the bottom of the new grade’s pay band or receive a 10% uplift, whichever provides the greater increase.
In Justice Digital, Data and Science, we recruit using a combination of the Government Digital and Data Profession Capability and Success Profiles Frameworks. We shall assess a combination of your Experience and Behaviours during the assessment process.

Appointments are made strictly in merit order. In the event that two or more candidates receive identical interview scores, experience in capability building or supporting the professional development of colleagues will be applied as the lead criterion to determine the final merit order.
