About the role
The HMCTS Data Team are vital in leading HMCTS to become a data driven organisation and are comprised of Data Engineers and Data Access specialists.
This role sits within the Data Access team, who support access to HMCTS data for a range of users, including the public, researchers, and other government departments. The team also includes Knowledge and Information Officers (KILO), who lead on Freedom of Information (FOI), Special Access Request (SAR) and third-party Data Protection Act (DPA) requests on behalf of this, and another directorate. We also work closely with the Data Protection team, meaning there are opportunities to work on related projects and improve your knowledge of HMCTS data access.
The purpose of this role is to provide day to day support with the monthly external publication of Management Information (MI), and support project work which improves the range of HMCTS published information.

Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Publications Lead to support the HMCTS delivery plan. You will support the publication and quality assurance of MI and communication of products and supporting others to quality assure their materials. Working with the Publishing Statistician in the team, you will play a key role in ensuring our work upholds the principles of the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.
Essential Skills
Experience of communicating to a range of audiences
Proficient in analysing documents to ensure consistency of information to present to a variety of audiences, including non-technical.
Experience using analytical products or software to assess data and share insights.
Confident in building relationships with Stakeholders to offer advice and recommendations.

Desirable Skills
Knowledge or experience of HMCTS, the jurisdictions and services delivered.
Some previous experience in publishing Official Statistics or MI.
Experience of improving analytical reporting products.
Experience using guidance from the Office for Statistics Regulation, Government Statistical Service and the Code of Practice for Official Statistics to help design and deliver products.
Experience of using R would be beneficial but other proven experience of using analytical products.
Experience working as a statistician in Government, specifically within statistician badged roles.

This post is eligible for a specialist pay allowance depending on location, experience and professional membership ranging from £500 - £1,500.
Travel requirements
There will be a requirement to travel occasionally in any HMCTS site in line with business needs.

Skilled Worker Sponsorship
