The Role

We’re recruiting for a Capability Associate here at Justice Digital, Data and Science, to be part of our warm and collaborative Enabling Services team.


The Ministry of Justice’s vision is to deliver a worldclass justice system that works for everyone in society. As a Capability Associate, you will help build and maintain the capability that enables the delivery of vital digital products and services.

You will work across Justice Digital, Data and Science’s Enabling Services, supporting digital capability and data-led improvements.

Your personal statement should answer the following question:


Please outline a time when you have effectively analysed data to create an impactful digital product (i.e. a Dashboard, SharePoint site, AI Agent), using agile ways of working to take this from inception to delivery?

As part of the interview, you will be asked to deliver a short presentation outlining your approach for the end-to-end design of a Capability App aimed at providing colleagues with access to Talent and Learning opportunities. Please include



You will have up to 8 minutes to present on this topic, followed by Q&A.


You may use visual aids. If you choose to use visual aids, you will be asked to screen share them during the interview.

In Justice Digital, Data and Science we recruit using a combination of the Government Digital and Data Profession Capability and Success Profiles Frameworks. We will assess your Experience, Technical Skills and the following Behaviours during the assessment process:



A diverse panel will review your application against the Person Specification above.


Successful candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to a 1-hour panel interview held via video conference.


Should you be unsuccessful in the role that you have applied for but demonstrate the capability for a role at a lower level, we reserve the right to discuss this opportunity with you and offer you the position without needing a further application.


A reserve list may be held for up to 12 months, from which further appointments may be made.
