We’re recruiting for a Capability Associate here at Justice Digital, Data and Science, to be part of our warm and collaborative Enabling Services team.
The Ministry of Justice’s vision is to deliver a world‑class justice system that works for everyone in society. As a Capability Associate, you will help build and maintain the capability that enables the delivery of vital digital products and services.
You will work across Justice Digital, Data and Science’s Enabling Services, supporting digital capability and data-led improvements.

You will work on key projects that support the strategic objectives for Enabling Services, taking these projects from concept and proposal to adoption and hyper-care phases.
Design and maintain high-quality digital products (SharePoint content, dashboards, AI agents) informed by user needs and analytics.
Work with key stakeholders to coordinate user testing on digital products.
Support development of internal digital content with accurate, accessible materials.
Use tools including Microsoft Office and the Power suite to analyse data, automate processes, and improve reporting.
Identify opportunities to streamline digital workflows and introduce automation and AI features, drafting proposals for discussion and agreement with lead stakeholders.
Support online events, demos, and showcases using collaboration tools.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the department’s commitment to continuous improvement.
Collaborate across Justice Digital, Data and Science teams and help build digital confidence.
Support KPI creation and tracking using digital tools and management reporting.
As new requirements are given to Enabling Services, there may be a need to work flexibly with new tasks and responsibilities, under the supervision of your Line Manager.

Essential
You will have an interest in technology and data, be able to use or keen to develop your understanding in the use of digital tools such as Excel, SharePoint, Power Automate and Power BI. You should be comfortable learning new systems, including AI tools, and understanding how digital solutions support our work. You will act as an advocate for digital solutions, supporting the implementation and training of your colleagues in Enabling Services.

Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for BPSS clearance.

How you’ll ensure that the product delivers for a diverse range of users.
You will have up to 8 minutes to present on this topic, followed by Q&A.
You may use visual aids. If you choose to use visual aids, you will be asked to screen share them during the interview.

A diverse panel will review your application against the Person Specification above.
Successful candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to a 1-hour panel interview held via video conference.
Should you be unsuccessful in the role that you have applied for but demonstrate the capability for a role at a lower level, we reserve the right to discuss this opportunity with you and offer you the position without needing a further application.
A reserve list may be held for up to 12 months, from which further appointments may be made.
