Overview of the job
This is a key role within the L&D Design Faculty, responsible for the end-to-end
management of a portfolio of new and redesigned learning products (face to face
and/or virtual experiences plus digital job aids) for staff across the National
Probation Service.
This role is non-operational and has no formal line-management responsibility.
This role is HQ based and will require occasional travel to other HMPPS sites/regions.
Summary
The main purpose of this role is to drive NPS product design and delivery, act as the
SPOC for their specific learning product and establish effective communication
between the Design Faculty, Central Learning Services and Regional teams.
Responsibilities,
The post holder will have the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
Activities and Duties
• Collaborate with operational and L&D stakeholders to develop a roadmap
of learning products and digital resources targeted for specific user groups
or capability areas
• Develop, own, and execute product roadmap for that portfolio of learning
products
• Partner with stakeholders and customers across NPS to inform the product
vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.
• Lead cross-functional teams to design and develop learning products from
concept to launch in a fast-paced environment
• Leverage insights from learner research to inform learning design and
ensure effectiveness
• Consult with Evidence-Based Practice team to understand and apply the
latest research into effective interventions to reduce reoffending
• Partner with the Learning Services and regional teams to ensure learning
courses and digital resources are posted and catalogued on the central
learning platform(s) and to ensure that the handover of learning products
for delivery is effectively managed
• Support the Design and Development Team to prepare Learning Coaches /
Facilitators to deliver new learning modules
• Work in an Agile environment and continuously review the business needs,
refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify
opportunities and risks.

Strengths

Experience
• Experience of designing or supporting the development of interactive,
blended learning material (experiential, digital, peer learning)
• Experience of working within a fast-pace project environment and with
multiple teams or stakeholders
• Experience or knowledge of the role of the Probation Officer / PSO or of
National Probation Service Operations
