This post is a new and exciting Performance Manager role and is open to new recruits and existing staff seeking a different type of challenge.

The East of England Probation Service is seeking to recruit a Performance Manager to work across the Region to drive forward performance and quality within a newly created Housing Support Services team, assisting People on Probation and in Prison to obtain and maintain accommodation. Whilst being a full-time member of this team, the post holder will benefit from being managed by and supported within the Regional Performance Team. It is expected that they will manage up to 2 performance officers.

This team is being set up on a 3 year Pilot basis and its future will be dependent on demonstrating strong performance levels and quality of delivery standards. This role then is critical to the success of the Pilot.

The Performance Manager role shall support the activities of the team, including the Head of Service, to achieve their objectives, analysing data and providing advice on referral levels, workflow and other management information to assist in the design and delivery of a high quality, efficient and effective service. They will also be expected to design and implement quality assurance and improvement activities in the aim of improving service delivery.

The post-holder will require excellent ICT skills with experience of using Business Objects Excel and Power BI or similar programmes. They will be confident working with data and analysing data sets, writing and creating reports.

They will also be required to have excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and with a range of stakeholders.

The Direct Delivery of Housing Support Services Team is being created as part of a Pilot Programme and the post advertised is a permanent role. Whilst successful applicants will work exclusively on this Project for an initial minimum period of three years/ until March 2029, applicants should be aware that the Project is subject to evaluation and therefore the role is subject to change if the Pilot is not deemed to be a success.
